Sentenced to Be a Hero

Heroism—a punishment reserved for only the vilest criminals in human history. These so-called heroes are enlisted to fight on the front lines in humanity’s war against the Demon Blight. And if a hero dies, their only reward is to be resurrected and forced to continue their never-ending struggle. Such is the fate of Xylo Forbartz, former captain of the Order of Holy Knights and convicted goddess killer. But when Xylo comes face-toface with a new goddess, the pact they forge might just be enough to change the world…

Forced to fight on the front lines against the Demon Blight as a penal hero, Xylo is able to narrowly escape his predicament by forming a contract with the Goddess of Swords, Teoritta. But to Xylo, this serves as his second contract formed with a goddess…and a stark reminder of his time as a captain of the Holy Knights. There is no time to rest, however, as Xylo receives his next mission and heads toward the blighted mines with the other members of his penal hero unit. Upon arrival, they find that mutated creatures are not the only things waiting for them! There’s no choice but to fight for survival! When there are no more ideals left to fight for, an undying rage must drive him forward!
