Merit and the Egyptian God

My name is Merit, and I’ve found myself in a bit of a quandary—namely, getting trapped in the underworld even though I’m very much alive! What’s more, I ran into an actual god, Anubis, who has somehow become a good-for-nothing slouch, lazing around and shirking his duties!! All right, I suppose he’s been cursed and wants nothing to do with humans. And as it turns out, maybe I’m the only one who can undo that curse—if I don’t, I’ll never get home. But I’m just a mortal girl. How can I hope to find my way into a god’s heart…?!

By a strange twist of fate, Merit is trapped in the underworld with only one ticket out—she must break the curse placed on the god Anubis! Thankfully, she’s gotten on good terms with the other gods, including Anubis’s father Osiris and younger brother Horus, but the more fun she has in the underworld, the more she begins to miss home… Amidst the divine family drama and Merit’s developing feelings for Anubis, Set, the god of storms and chaos, attacks and steals Merit away!
