Hell Is Dark with No Flowers

Seiji Tohno sometimes sees the people around him as monsters. It’s a curse that has driven him to a life of despair…but all that changes one evening when he stumbles across a bewitchingly beautiful boy in a huge European mansion. The boy introduces himself as Shiroshi Saijou, and before he knows it, Seiji has agreed to become Shiroshi’s part-time assistant. It turns out that Shiroshi’s “proxy service” is to consign yokai-possessed sinners to Hell, which will bring Seiji face-to-face with an unimaginable host of horrors!

A request to exterminate a nue brings Shiroshi Saijou and his assistant, Seiji Tohno, to a manor in a remote village. The family that lives there claims to be cursed, though Shiroshi and his rival, Odoro, are certain there’s something far more sinister hidden in their bloodstained past. When tragedy strikes in the dead of night, Shiroshi and Odoro begin their race to expose the sinner and get to the bottom of what happened two years ago. But they must tread carefully, for one misstep means the punishment of Hell would fall upon themselves…

A letter threatening a “dismemberment” is delivered to Seiji and Shiroshi, challenging them to visit a remote island in the southern seas. The pair sets out to investigate—and what awaits them is a towering Italian baroque mansion housing a strange dollmaker and his surreally beautiful “living doll.” To Seiji’s surprise, they’re joined by Detective Odoro and a mysterious boy claiming to be Shiroshi’s younger brother! With a typhoon drawing near, what secrets will be unveiled on the island, and what tragedies will be foretold…?

The stage is set, and the curtain rises on a tragedy. A masked dollmaker, a girl he claims to be his masterpiece, a loyal butler, and two feuding brothers…all trapped in the perfect storm for the “dismemberment” as foretold. But that isn’t the only grisly occurrence tonight: When Seiji witnesses a headless corpse that disappears soon after, he thinks his eyes are playing tricks on him! Shiroshi, Odoro, and Aka set out to investigate, but who will be the first to see through the island’s mysteries?
