Highlights of Akira’s carefully orchestrated strategy to court Hajime include covering his eyes with her hands, tricking him into saying her name, and making his heart race. But she might have better luck impressing him with her academic and athletic prowess. Or not. Because he’s too dense to figure out she likes him. And she’s too dense to figure out he likes her back!
Akira woos Hajime by sharing a homemade muffin, asking him to teach her how to ride a bike, and relentlessly rehearsing her script for how to converse with him. Hajime woos Akira by getting her contact info, asking her out to the summer festival, and…defending her from a swarm of kitty cats?! In the end, will a romantic firework display do the trick…?
The aftermath of Akira and Hajime’s first (accidental) kiss kicks off a storm of self-recrimination, apologies, and denial. Will one or both of the would-be lovers ever reach the stage of acceptance? Then, Hajime joins the track-and-field team in hopes of winning tickets to an amusement park so he can invite Akira on a date, but his training sessions lead to jealousy. Finally, Hajime goes to Akira’s home for the first time and meets her mother. Will she approve of him…?
It’s time for summer fun with the gang! But first, Hajime discovers Akira’s scripts and has her dead to rights. How will she wriggle out of this? Then, friendly police officer Mamoru tries to save the star-uncrossed lovers from bears. Next, Hajime gets a part-time job at Momose Bath, the traditional inn and hot springs owned by Akira’s family. And finally, a day at the beach leads to bikinis, opportunities to ask each other out, and…drowning?!
Hajime has to attend summer school, but to his surprise and delight, Akira is the teacher! Together, they try to help a third student, Hinako, who can’t handle praise without being reduced to quivering jelly. Next, it’s time for hijinks at the school cultural festival! Which of the two would-be lovers looks cuter in their costume? Then, when Hajime falls ill, Akira must screw up the courage to visit him at his home. How can she comfort him…?
